Our Philosophy: Instructional Plan

Quest Academy serves students in grades 6 through 12. As per the school’s mission statement, the academic program is designed to promote self-awareness and engagement with the world around us. Quest Academy employs highly qualified teachers in a wide range of academic disciplines and meets or exceeds Minnesota graduation standards in all subject areas.

The daily rhythm at Quest Academy is distinctive and conducive to learning and the reinforcement of learning. After initial activities that help students become individually and socially centered and present, academic learning begins.

The “non-academic” portions of the day help create a balanced experience. At the beginning of the day, students center themselves physically, then practice reflective or relational skills that help them know themselves and others. Students can recharge during lunch and outdoor time, although the latter may involve a learning activity. At the end of the day, students collect themselves, recall assignments, and gather everything they will need in order to successfully complete their homework before they transition to the next part of their day.
